Juniors In Literacy 1983 (JIL1983) offers free services and help with the following areas:
Forms
-
interpreting forms for Housing, Recreation Sports and Camp, Transportation, Immigration

interpreting forms for Education, Pension, SIN, Passport, Social Services, Computer Grants

assisting in filling out forms for adults

providing referral letters to third parties on behalf of parents who request them (minimum acquaintance time 6 months)
Student Helps

facilitating Numeracy, Math, English to all learners JK to Gr 8

monitoring of Social Skills and interactions

facilitating On Line Editing Services to students in Gr 9-12

facilitating On Line Editing Services to University and College Students including parents in Upgrading and Career Retraining Programs, in all subjects

conducting Scholarship Research and University Application PreparationWorkshops for Gr 11 and 12 students
Partnerships with Toronto Public Library

partnering with Toronto Public Library to administering the TD Bank– Summer Book Reading Club

encouraging parents to utilize the services of the Toronto Public Library for the Leading to Reading Program

Hosting the Librarian for Meet the Parents, Discuss Early years Reading Strategies, Book Display at our locations

promoting and welcoming the new Ontario Early Years Parkdale-High Park, Junction

providing a 6 month In-house Tutor Trainee Peer-to-Peer Program to enable high school students to serve in TCHC communities
